Praise be to the Eucharistic heart of Jesus

My Dear Loving Sisters,

Greetings and Prayerful wishes to each and every one of you.

The Spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions. The nearer we get to Him the more intensely missionary we become. To show Christ through our life is the work of a missionary. Only those who lead a spirit filled life can manifest Christ through their lives. The great apostle St.Poul says “I have been crucified with Christ on his cross, so that it is no longer I, who live but Christ Lives in me (Gal2/19-20). He toiled and suffered and was persecuted and accepted martyrdom for the love of His master. So also it was with this spirit that we accepted the call to Gujarat Mission. Unknown language, strange culture, unaccustomed food and weather, difficulties in communication and travels, separation from near and dear ones…all these were nothing compared to the zeal in spreading the light of the Gospel in Gujarat Mission.

Our beloved founder venerable Thomas Kurialassery wished that the Eucharistic Lord be known loved and adored by all always and everywhere. We Have a long way to march together to carry out the desire of our beloved founder. During this “Year of Mercy” we are called to share our lives to the poor and needy as missionaries. The world is thirsting for God. Let us do what we can to quench the thirst of the people around us. We may not be eloquent preachers like St. Poul but we can be the silent intercessors of missionaries. Let us rekindle the apostolic zeal in which we are, as we look for fresh pastures. Let our steps be guided by the living Fountain the never dries up or make a mistake, but strengthens everyone who venture it.

Yours in the Eucharistic Lord
Sr Lissy John Othickal SABS
